ESP Ara votiva dedicada al nacimiento de Mitra. Posiblemente realizada con motivo de la inauguración del templo a Mitra erigido en la ciudad de Mérida en el s. II d.C. El ara está dedicada por un miembro de la Legio VII Gemina, lo cual es un buen ejemplo de la expansión del culto a Mitra gracias a los soldados de las legiones romanas.
ENG Votive altar dedicated to the birth of Mithras. Possibly made on the occasion of the inauguration of the temple to Mithras erected in the city of Mérida in the 2nd century AD. The altar is dedicated by a member of the Legio VII Gemina, which is a good example of the expansion of the cult of Mithras thanks to the soldiers of the Roman legions.
